Christians have a responsibility to give an answer for the hope that its within them, to defend the faith when it is under attack from unbelief. This message will explore the call for Christians to be able to defend their faith and offer guidance for how to do so. 

The so-called problem of evil has been called the most difficult issue for the Christian faith. Questions related to the presence of evil in light of God’s omnipotence and omnibenevolence come up all the time when talking to non–Christians. This message will help believers better understand God’s relationship to evil and provide an answer to those who ask how evil can occur in our good God’s world. 

This seminar will consider pressing questions related to being a Christian in our culture.

The answer to the first question of the Westminster Shorter Catechism explains that our purpose as human beings is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever. This message will explore this divine purpose granted to men and women, looking at how it is grounded in Scripture. 

This seminar will look at different episodes from church history that offer perspective on our present moment.

Because we live in a fallen world, none of us will escape suffering. Christians are called to a specific response of faith and obedience in the midst of suffering, and this message will consider what Scripture says about the right response of believers to the pain that they experience. 

Christians want to know the will of God for their lives, including the vocation to which He has called them, whether and who they should marry, and so on. This message will explain the means by which we discern the will of God for their lives in such areas while also reminding us that the primary will of God for all believers is their sanctification. 

We live in an age in which we’re encouraged to be anxious over international affairs, the state of the culture, the economy, and more. Yet, Scripture frequently calls us not to be anxious or afraid. This message will explore the Bible’s teaching on anxiety, presenting the ways we can overcome sinful anxiety, while also covering the importance of being rightfully concerned and making plans for the future. 

If God is sovereign over all things, does prayer really affect the course of events in this world? Why should we pray if God has foreordained whatsoever comes to pass? Does prayer change God’s mind? This message will give an overview of the relationship of prayer to the sovereignty of God, encouraging us that prayer is an important means of communing with God and changing things in creation without changing God Himself. 

This seminar will consider how Christians can be intentional about encouraging and supporting faithful leaders in our local churches. 

One of the most common questions that Christians have is the question of assurance. We know that true faith in Christ saves, but we also want to know how we can be sure that we actually possess true faith. This message will address the assurance of salvation, helping us to know how to evaluate ourselves and the authenticity of our faith. 

Our understanding of God shapes how we see the world, ourselves, and our purpose. Yet, both culture and the church often distort His character, leading to confusion and misplaced hope. This message will confront common misunderstandings and reveal the truth of who God is according to Scripture, showing how knowing Him rightly brings clarity, confidence, and deep joy. 

Perhaps no other generation has struggled more with questions of identity than our own. People today suffer much despair because they have bought into the culture’s lie that we construct our own identity rather than recognizing it as a gift from God. This message will look at what the Bible says about human identity as determined by our Creator. 

All Christians believe that God is sovereign, but not all Christians define sovereignty in the same way. Some Christians believe God is in full control of all that ever happens, even our decision to put our faith in Christ, while others think that God does not ordain whether or not we come to faith. This message will present the biblical teaching on the sovereignty of God, stressing that our Creator is in full control over everything in creation. 

Christians are called to grow in holiness, in conformity to the character of the Lord Jesus Christ. Yet, they often want to know how exactly such growth happens. This message will consider the necessity of sanctification and the means of sanctification, and it will help us understand our role in growing in holiness by the power of the Holy Spirit.
